Renewed Effort!

In my futile attempt to make my life neat as it can possibly be (but let's be honest, setting myself up for disaster!) I am going to try to blog more. Not only can this keep my family up to date with the happenings of the fab four, but also to make a memory blog for us to look back on!

Instead of using the kiddos "real" names I am going to use their nicknames. Because they are funny and they do go by them. Below is a list of the names and explanation!

Kid #1- Our oldest son is called "creep". I know, I know....not exactly the nicest name for your beloved eldest son...but when dude was little, he had tons of hair on his ears...really creepy. Creep is a natural athlete, ladies man, and very smart. He is also very onery.

Kid #2- Our second oldest son is "PeeWee". PeeWee is one of the funniest kids I know. He loves to laugh and is constantly doing stuff to make others do so. He is very sensitive, obstinate, and loves God. He is also very onery.

Note: PeeWee is our in house IT support...he can fix things.

Kid #3- She was supposed to be my partner in crime...but apparently she flies solo most of the time. Messy is the female touch to our male brood. She is the boss. The rest of us are merely her for her entertainment. She likes; gum, pop, wearing Mom's makeup, Dora and stealing her baby brother's "popo". She is sweet...as long as you don't take her lip gloss.

Kid #4- "Google" is the news member of our family. He is a round, lovable butterball that is still in the eat, sleep, poop stage of his life. He enjoys reggae music while he sleeps and playing the "how many chins can you make" game.

Big is my wonderful partner. He is a special ed teacher and coaches football and wrestling. He is the yin to my yang. We are cosmically connected. He enjoys Harry Potter fan fiction, video games, and sports.

I am Mama. I am the proud wife and mother and writer of this little diddy. I am a teacher also, but kick it at home with the fab four for the time being. I enjoy reading (like I ever have time too!), writing and cooking. I love being a Christian, Mommy, Democrat, and wife.

Snow

I am over it! Winter seems to be taking FOREVER this year. It has been extremely cold, we have had lots of snow, and we are going stir crazy! Oh Spring! How I long to see thee! Don't let these three fool you for a second, they are savage beasts that enjoy filling the potty with TP, coloring on each other with markers (washable or not), and ripping butt wipes out of the container at record speeds! lol

Things you should know about me...

There are a few things I think people should know about me. Maybe something a little less obvious, but none the less important to what makes me my bad beautiful self.

1. I hate having people in my house. My children may despise this as they grow older and want friends to come over. People in my territory make me uneasy.

2. I often give money to homeless people. This is not so much of a problem in Emporia, but in bigger cities it is a regular.

3. The charities I try to support each year is St. Jude's Children's Hospital and The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

4. I really want to be a doula. I think childbirth is an amazing experience and I want to help other women, especially teen mothers and single mothers, be able to enjoy and appreciate it.

5. Raising my children is the most important job in my life (period). I don't care if I have a master's degree and won't use it for several years. It will be there when I am ready to use it. My children will not however be young again, I don't want to miss it.

Stir Crazy

I think my children are going insane. The weather has to be confusing them. 70 one day, snowing by the weekend? What the heck is up with this, I am strongly opposed.

This is the main offender...he likes taking his picture with the digital camera. When I download photos, I find no less than 10 pictures much like the one above. Sweet.

Homecoming 2008

I haven't been to very many football games since Big stopped playing; let's face it, it's just not the same. Today however, we ventured out to the ESU Homecoming game. It was fun!

Harper apparently did not get her beauty sleep this morning and was a little cranky, but she slept most of the game and was happier later in the day. Thus why there are no pictures of her, she was asleep under a blanket the whole time.

Scooter enjoyed the game!

#2 and Corky

#1 and #2 with their "Uncle" Bryan

The best thing is the Hornets held on to their small lead and won the game! They haven't won very many games this season so it was a great time! "Uncle" Bryan had a great game also!

Note: Uncle Bryan is a ESU player from LA. He is a long way from home and we have adopted him into our family. Ironically, Big and Bryan look A LOT alike. They tell everyone that they are brothers...it is funny. Bryan is a super sweet guy and the boys love him.

UHHH NO!

I am confident this is the best creation ever. My oldest son however, Scooter, took one bite and said "Uh NO!".

The Princess

Harper Nevaeh-L'Rece

The belly before delivery.

The result.

She's new...I still don't know much about her. All I know is she was the best surprise ever. The Lord's will is amazing... She is impatient, especially when it comes to "the boob". She loves her Daddy. She likes my bed more than her own. She looks good in all colors. She has curly hair. I love her more than I can express.
Just keepin' it real.
